Feels llike a reunion

Dear Bonnie,

I am so glad that I discovered your site, by way of listening to YouTube songs, first of Leon Russell, then of you and all your friends over the years. I first came across your and Delaney's great work in the "On Tour with Eric Clapton," album, still one of my favorites. Then I worked my way back and forward, acquiring your albums and all others you appeared on as guest or featured artists. Through you I discovered many other of my favorite musicians of the era, including Dave Mason (as a soloist), Billy Preston, Rita, Joe Cocker, and on and on. You have had a truly remarkable career, you have given me so much joy, you have expanded my musical awareness, and I wish you and your lovely daughters all the best.

Note

Bonnie:

The music is priceless. The blues the soul the rock and roll. The grooves in the records are old and worn down. The music stills plays on and on.Both you and Delaney belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.                                                                         J

appreciation

Hi, Bonnie.
I would just like to say that I have been a huge fan of D,B & Friends since the late 60's when I bought three of your vinyl albums in a " bomb damage" store here in Belfast Northern Ireland. Over the years I have replaced the albums with C D versions and I have just bought the 1971 A&R album with the Allmann brothers and King Curtis. I love your soulful voice and Delaney's lyrics. I was so sad to hear that Delaney had passed away. It seems like all the good guys die young - Delaney, George Harrison, Mickey Newbury, Waylon Jennings, The list just goes on. Thank you both for a load of excellent and inspirational music. Life at 64 would be a much duller place without music. lots of love Bonnie. Roy Quinn.in Northern Ireland.

Music

Dear Bonnie,

I remember listening to Delaney & Bonnie back
in the day. I used to sing along and harmonize.
I loved your voice and how strong and soulful
it was.
I received a boxed set of the Roseanne series. I
often watch the episode where you sang "You
Really got a hold on me." I literally get chills
when I watch you. I made my friend watch
it,too. When he saw it. all he could say was "
Wow, wow."
What a remarkable artist and songwriter you
are. Thank you for your impact on the music
world and for giving me chills when you sing.

Love the one you're with...

Roseanne should have let you sing more on the show... :)  Your voice is amazing and your rendition of "Love the One You're With" is--well...--AMAZING! :)

Just wanted to give you a "shout out."  You have been an inspiration to me for many years.

Thank you.

fan letter

i just wanted you to know how much I like your singing and you. I remember your whole career vividly and your wonderful work on Roseanne and your recent CDs. You always seemed along with Tracy Nelson to sing the blues and you also r&Wonder Woman. When someone has given you years of enjoyment, you get to wanting to say bless you and thank you. I am so glad you are keeping on keeping on and hope fate brings you to LA. You may remember Keith Johnson who speaks with similar delight about you and says you are the standup person the artist suggests. I'd like to buy an autographed picture. Is that possible.
I listen to lots from Bach to Otis Redding. Your singing is some of my favorite. I bet there are many like me who miss you and, well, love you.
I retired after 45 years as a history prof and still write.
I am nobody special but I spread your music to the kids who get you.
Again , thank you smoking churning tender warm hot loving mistress of song and one fabulous singer!

Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

I remember seeing you in Boston with Delaney and Eric Clapton many years ago.  Your voice sent chills up my spine.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  Just this morning I came across your recording of "The Love of My Man" and it still gives me chills.  One of the all-time great voices.

Delaney

Bonnie, my name is Greg, I am Fred's son, I live in Tupelo and Coach Football and teach at Mooreville High school just east of Tupelo. I was on the computer listening to youtube videos and one of the Delaney and Bonnie songs with Eric Clapton when yall were performing over in England was on. I am a big music fan, cant play or sing a LICK, but I really love the songs from the 70's, I am 44 and My Mother,(Martha)always had the radio on in the mornings getting ready for school and she was where I got my rythm I guess. But anyway the I looked, the more fasinated I got, I havent Talked to Aunt Teresa since daddy died,I was going to call her, shes not to far from me. I called Momma just before writing you and she confirmed and Jarred some of my memory,m because I couldnt remember who Delaneys daddy was,Now I remember, To me it was Uncle Preston. My sister in law and my son and his wife live in Nashville, and we are up there all the time, as a matter of fact I will be back and forth quite a bit for the next few weeks because they are moving back to Tupelo. My sister in law(Wanda) live in Whitehouse and her and her husband(Andy) have a couple of buisnesses and some properties in the area,I love the area, my nephew(Eric)got us a suite when Ole Miss played in the bowl game last year and Wanda and Andy are big Titan Fans and Wanda's company has son club level seats at LP Field. This has been fasinating reading about you, Bekka,& Delaney's career and I'm calling Momma asking questions. Matter of Fact she has one of yall's records because I remember listening to it, and also just hearing Mother and Daddy and all of my Family talk about yall and now years later its starting to unfold, I guess when you lose someone dear to you and you get older you atrt looking back and perhaps try to hold on to anything you can grasp to regain some of the old days. When Mamaw May(Myrl) died, and then Tom, Jake, amd now daddy, all of The memories are way more important as well as fasinating. Your Whatever Cousin, Greg 662-213-6736
