Lately I've been listening to your old records and cds. I was lucky enough to see you and Delaney in the early seventies in Asbury Park N.J. I remember being mad when I heard that Eric Clapton wasn't gonna be there until the show started and I was just blown away by your group.Forty years later i've yet to see a show as great as yours. It was great to have my kids introduced to your music when you were on Rosanne. I played your music and told them I was already a big fan. Right now i'm listening to your solo album and you really are beautiful.

Passing it on

Ms Bramlett - you (along with Delaney and all your friends) have been a part of me since forever started (must be 40+ years by now).?I have always thought that you can't have music without heart and I am grateful that you have blessed us by sharing yours.?Your voice and that unmistakable D&B sound - soulful, brassy, bluesy - a little kick ass mixed with a kiss of friendship.?Nothing short of perfect.

And the things you and Delaney taught your "friends" I have passed on to my son (age 24).?He is a horn player with an eclectic ear for music.?And he is his Daddy's son - because one listen?to?"Will the Circle" and "Atlanta Georgia" and?"Soul Shake" and "Elijah" and "Since I met You"?and?another generation of fans were born.?

Bless you, Bonnie.?Your voice and music is like a call to join the fold.?And I thank you for the lifelong invitation.? ??

Gratitude

Bonnie's magnificent voice has accompanied me throughout every phase of my life...I cannot remember a time that I ever went more than a few days without listening to one of my many Bonnie-compilations...always in ♫ rapture .

Thrilling!...Inspiring!...Gut-wrenching!!...Heart-warming!...just a few ways to describe her effect on me. A world of love, respect and gratitude goes with this message...David

D&B Tribute concert, NYC June 8

Woo-hoo! Cannot wait to see/hear you! I've been pushing the Induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame campaign on my Rock's Back Pages blog and on my Facebook page. Michele B. loved what I wrote.

I have old articles I wrote about you when I worked in the music bizz. I'll bring them with me & hope I can get them to you. Think you'll get a kick out of them.

a great memory

I hosted a songwriters showcase in Kagel Cyn in the 90's and you appeared at a charity fundraiser we had one Sunday afternoon. It was a great thrill for me to have sung "Dixie Chicken" with you that day.  It remains one of my favorite memories which I will cherish forever.  You went on to perform a super set that evening and I just want to let you know what it meant to me to perform with you.  I have the greatest respect and admiration for you.

Thank you for being a regular person and not someone with the "big star" attitude.  God bless.

Late to the Party

At age 67, last week I stumbled on to some YouTube videos of you and Delaney performing in the late 1960s. Back then I loved "Only You Know and I Know", but YouTube allowed me a visual glimpse of the grace and rhythm and timing you contributed to the group. Now my favorite songs are "Good Thing" and especially the driving sound of "Getting to Know You So Well". What a kick to turn the clock back and watch you brighten the stage.

long ago meeting

Bonnie, I met you in 1975-76 in Sunland CA at Shelby's house. We actually stayed there at the same time. I eventually married the guy across the street and moved in there and you sang in our living room one night. It stays with me today because it was haunting and beautiful. I met Delaney at a barbeque at Shelby's too... so sad when I heard he had passed, far too soon.

Wishing you and your girls all the best!

New Orleans Jazz Fest

Thank you for being so gracious and signing my copy of Delaney & Bonnie on Tour before you went onstage at the Jazz Fest, and for posing for a photo with me.  I have always loved your music, and chose to go to the Jazz Fest that weekend instead of the following weekend just so I could hear you sing.  You were great, and I was very happy that you were so kind to me.  It sure would be cool if you ever did a gig in the San Francisco area (where I live).  I could die a happy man if I got to hear you do a live version of Soul Shake!  Thank you for all your wonderful music - I play it all the time.

Sincerely,

Hans Ingebretsen

"Step By Step" & Work with Joe English

Bonnie .. I just wanted you to know that I am a big fan and absolutely loved your album "Step By Step."? I worked at a radio station back in 1981, and we played cuts from it quite often. I also remember you appearing with Joe English in Orlando about that same time. One of the greatest live shows that I can remember, even to this day.? I know that in an interview you stated that you received criticism from some regarding your work on that album (I also remember what these "same people" did to BJ Thomas), but I just wanted you to know that your work did not return void. It affected some of us quite deeply, and still is a source of inspiration thirty (WOW!) years later. God bless you.

BBC Documentary

Just watched the BBC documentary on Southern Rock. Here in the the UK, I guess that we cannot really have the save insight into the background to all that was happening in the seventies and how important your contributions was. Nonetheless, I LOVE your style and I LOVE your attitude. You know when you listen to something and you just think "hey...of course now I get it...!!!" As we say on this side of the pond "nice one" and if you ever find yourself in London let's share a bottle of JD and rock out ...Rock 'n'n Roll man....
