thanks for the music

Ms. Bramlett,

Just wanted to send you a note thanking you for the music you've created and shared with us over the years. I've been a fan now for forty plus years (dang I'm getting old). The only time I got to see you perform was with your band at a club called Richard's in Atlanta in the early seventies with Little Feat as the opening act (I did get to come on several nights). Shortly after Uncle Sam called and i soon found myself in the army. I still get out to see music when I can but those shows still rate as some of the finest I've ever seen and have a special place in my heart. So once again thanks for the music and may God bless you and yours.

Hometown Girl

Hey Bonnie!
I was just reading a Stephen Stills interview where he referenced you growing up in East Saint Louis, Il. Which part of the city did you grow up? I'm an ESL Girl myself. Love your vocals!

Concert- Baltimore July 19, 1969

Bonnie, I hope this really does reach you. My brother and I had the "local band" and opened for Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie when you played the Baltimore Civic Center on July 19, 1969. It was amazing because we were overwhelmed with YOU guys and Clapton said he thought you were BETTER than his incarnation with Blind Faith at the time. I will never for get it. I was a kid then. We were 15 and 16 and on stage with legends. Unfortunately time has lost the evening for many. If you are reading this, do you have any photos' of that evening or old film. We all came on stage and did "Never Ending Love" at the end of the evening. The Baltimore Civic Center (now Baltimore Arena) lost or threw away their photos and archives from that time. I know this is a big request, but that nights magic has stayed with us all these years. I'm sorry about you and Delaney because your music was incredible together. To much gets lost over time. We all miss you and those days.

Hope this reaches you,  George

Captivated

Bonnie,

I am a longtime fan of jazz and blues. I first saw you on the Roseann show and this is where I fell in aww of your talent. Sometimes in life there are those certain songs, sounds, and voices, which make a person reflect on his or her life. For me your music is a reflection of my life and my desire. A voice like yours so seldom comes along and when we are honored enough to listen to the music I believe we must let the artist know of his or her contribution to our happiness found in the music.

Thank you for taking me on the journey with you.. Jenn

You are SO cool!!!

Hello Mrs. Bramlett,

I first saw you on Roseanne when I was a kid and was then as I am now, completely mesmerized by your voice. I just wanted to say you have an amazing voice/gift/talent!! I hope I can be as cool as you are when I'm your age.

Bunny

Hi Bonnie

Did you hang out in Miami with the folks from Criteria studio?? If so I believe you were friends with my friend Bunny who I lost track of years ago.? I lived in the commune with her.? If it was you than I have a fond memory of you singing and playing guitar in one of the bedrooms one night.? It is a memory I will never forget.? If this was not you then I wish you well.

Marilyn

PS? I see you live in Nashville where I am a midwife and have been for the last 35 years.

just catching up

Mrs Bramlett,

Sorry to hear about Delaney. I saw you with B/D n Friends way back, and you blew me away. Your energy was captivating (and honestly, I kinda fell in love with Delaney's wife). Wandered backstage, shook EC's hand before band and roadies whisked him away. Wish I would have met you then. Next on Doors movie, now heard you on Charlie D's gospel CD (birthday present from my son Robert Carlos). Now I wish I would have followed your music since. Just trying to catch up, post- fog.        Love, Bob

just a couple questions for ya!

Hi Bonnie! I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your voice and absolutely loved your character on Roseanne. My questions are....Do you & roseanne still keep in touch? Do you & David Crosby often sing/tour together? And also....my favorite song you do is "you really got a hold on me"....when you sang it on Roseanne so many years ago I was like "WOW! Where did that big voice come from! xoxoxoxoxoxox

Webmaster: Bonnie may wish to comment further but for starters... Bonnie toured with Stephen Stills at the end of the seventies but that memorable performance with David Crosby was just a one-off deal. In contrast, see the News (and the TV & Movies) page here for some illustration of Bonnie's long time and continuing friendship with Roseanne.

You were my favorite then and your voice still puts me away now...

First I would like to say how sorry I am about Delaney's passing -- he was an awesome talent, and the backbone of so much music that has come down since the late 60's -- the discography is unbelievable, for BOTH of you!

Bonnie, you and Delaney were the music I belted to every day of 1970/71, Only You Know and I Know and the unparalleled That's What My Man Is For, still one of the best female vocals ever! Your music made my soul sing every time I heard it and I emulated your singing and sang along with you -- You and Leon were a huge part of my growing up...Living in San Francisco, I went one night in 1970 to hear you at the Fillmore, and after the unbelievable show, I went backstage for a minute to thank Delaney, and naively suggest that you all collaborate with Rod Stewart, another unbelievable voice at that time -- he chuckled and said he would think about it! Very gracious to a 19 year old innocent -- It was all about the music for me and I wanted him to know how fabulous you all were -- too bad you weren't there at that moment, too -- really, you, Bonnie, were the fire and cream of the whole band -- YOU brought the sound together and shot it over the top, every time. I saw that you were playing in New Orleans at the Jazz Festival this year -- if there is any way I can be there, I will go -- YOU ARE STILL MY IDOL! Just hearing this iconic album (On Tour) makes me want to get up and sing, just belt it out with feeling. I will now get your other albums, along with the latest release of the tour in 1969 -- especially because there are more cuts of you bringing down the house! Take care of yourself and hope to see you in the Big Easy!

Brilliant Hope

Good Day Bonnie,

I have been in love with your voice since I saw you on Roseanne. I will be auditioning for America's Got Talent and I will be singing "I Can Laugh About It Now," which is one of my favorites.

I hope to do you proud!
