Jim Gordon

Bonnie, can you tell me anything about the well-being of Jim Gordon? Such a sad story, but I admired his work greatly. I would like to know he is ok and making some progress. Thank You--Danny Boatman, Tulsa

Just saying Hi

Bonnie,

I just bought Delaney and Bonnie's Greatest Hits (as if they could really fit them all on a CD) and it just brought back alot of old great feelings from the 60's. I was very young then but precocious and I just love that music! I hope you're career is going well and if you get up near Dallas or Austin let me know as I would love to wine and dine you.

Memories of you while Dad working

Hello Bonnie,

I do not think you knew me well or remember us, we remember you. Both you and Delaney had a big influence on us, as of one of the musicians that our father worked for... David Faison for sound and as a roadie. The people that he worked for was more than a job, he wouldn't have done it if he didn't appreciate the music, and he was probably having the joy of his life. He passed away in 1998, due to complications of leukemia. One of the statements I remembered him saying was that he felt you had more musical talent than Delaney (sh-h-h! I didn't say that.)? He appreciated your voice as more powerful than Janis Joplin was. I want to thank you for allowing him to bring us kids along at your shows, and the free rides at Magic Mountain! We met your kids too, and I hope they all are doing well today. Many thanks to you.

Love,

Jenny Faison (Jere Faison my brother)

Some of my best friends

Bonnie:

I was a sophomore in college in 1970 when one day someone was? playing the album with The Friends, and That's what my man...was on.? You could have knocked me over 'cause I didn't believe what I was hearing with your voice.? Over the years I have listened to and so thoroughly enjoyed?your music so much.? Yours is one of those voices that isn't duplicated, although Bekka comes perilously close and she's got the soul, too.? I was surfing YouTube and stumbled into you doing "Some of my Best Friends" and once again was astounded.? Sometimes notes are played and words are sung, but with you it is putting meaning to it in a manner few would have been able to do.? Forty+ years of bringin' it, and thank you for every minute of it....you're a treasure and I love you for it. Our lives go on, marriage,?law school,?a career, kids, triumph, tragedy, loss and gain, but every time I listen to you its the timeless beauty of His creation?in such a lovely voice....hope you make it to the Seattle area sometime, I'd love for my wife and I to meet you... I just introduced you to her and hope she appreciates you only a little as I have.

God Bless
