Been a fan for more years than I can count.? I'm close to 70 now, & still love to hear your voice.? In the 60's, a woman?once asked me?why men were so taken with you.?I?think it's your?exciting?and soulful voice, and your good looks -?you still got it!

RE. My good friend Bonnie

Bonnie,  I haven't seen you since our work with Dickie Betts.  Glad to know that you are doing well and hope to see you soon.

Your Wonderful Music!

God love you Bonnie. Your newest cds from the last few years are so good. My wife & I dance to you in the kitchen, always with a smile. It's too cold to come up here to Minnesota now,?(January!) but maybe some summer you might swing this way for a show. We hope so.?God Bless, John & Linda Sandbo, Minneapolis

John Boy and Billy radio interview

Bonnie: I was the interviewer on the John Boy and Billy radio show this morning who told you I was from East St. Louis and mentioned 25th and Ridge...My website is www.hansonenterprises.net?? It was good talking to you today and to make the old home town connection. You have been to the mountain and it was great reading about your career on this website.

Long time ago

Hi Bonnie, In 1970 I sat in the Brass Ring and saw D & B every night. I got to know Rita (40 years), Connie Nelson, Terri and Anni Rodgers and many other friends. I am now living in Portland and still an artist/painter. www.ronjennings.org I am in hopes that you can play the Waterfront Blues Fest here in Portland Oregon over 4th of July weekend. It is now the nr. one Blue Fest in the country. Your manager has been contacted. They also do a Blues Cruiz on a ship on the River which is always a great show that you could do. I have been in contact with the fellow that books the acts for the fest. If you come I am asking you out to Dinner and we can talk about the good ole days. Connie Nelson will vouch for me. Go to my web. www.ronjennings.org or email me at olron316@mac.com It would be so good to see you again and to hear you sing live instead of my ipod. LOL Ron

Donnie Marshall

First off, you are the best!  I have been listening since the beginning and you are the same as always, the best. I also understand through my local Charlotte NC contacts that drummer extraordinair Donnie Marshall is playing with you & or recording.  Donnie "IS" the best and most proficient drummer I have come to know since I came here in 1986 from NYC and my opinion of his talents had never wavered.  He is the most specially gifted drummer I have known here since he worked at Reliable Music and with such artists as Jim Brock and now his new absolutely talented and beautiful wife, vocalist Kim Carper.  Hope to see you in NC someday.

Delaney

I worked with you guys in 1969-70 and it was one of the highlights of my life. I live in New Orleans now and my first thought was a jazz funeral. I will always remember Delaney as being one of the best human beings alive and Bonnie, you were just a great. Peace,
Frank Mayes

Hey Bons

Have your management check out some venues up around northeastern New Mexico. Taos has an awesome summer music festival, Trinidad CO. has the Trinidadio Blues Festival and I'm a board member for the Cimarron Shortgrass Music Festival. Everyone up here NEEDS to hear your talent.
Do you actually get these messages, or am I just running off my mouth?
But I guess if anyone wants to check out the music up here it is a hell of a lot of fun and the scenery is awsome.
Love to you
Kathy

and onward . . .

Dear Miss Bonnie:

I was a young teenager in 71-72 in Montreal, and will always remember trekking through knee-high snow for an hour to get to a hockey rink to see you and Delaney.?By the time we got there it was well past opening time, but the weather had slowed up you guys too so everyone settled in and did that stuff we did to dig it all.

?You had?some group called Loggins & Messina opeining for you - we knew a little about Jimmy from Poco, but this must have been their first week out of the studio coz no one expected to be blown away by them - Do you remember?? Man, they were an earful!

Then, the incomparable Mr. Billy Preston and band ?came out and hammered us all with a badass R&B funk, complete with his James Brown danceathon = un huh -? and again it was WOW!......

And then D&B took the stage and what a set - I'm sure you guys ain't never seen that much snow and just wanted back on the bus and point 'er south right quick . . .? but here's Mr. Delaney APOLOGISING to us coz the show got to runnin' a bit late.... what a gentleman . . .? and then proceeded to lead an hour plus long set of the most beautiful sounds I have - to this day - ever heard.? Can Jim Messina sing? sure can, a fine lick or two -- Can Kenny Loggins? Yes sir ..... and was Billy as soulful as they come - - without a doubt.

But Miss Bonnie -- I have never heard such singing as Delaney? gave us that night.? It was angelic, sweet, full of joy and love...

He sang one song called "God knows I love you"? that I would give a thousand bucks to have recorded . . I can't find it anywhere and it haunts me - such passion and power.

When my first born came along,? we gave him Delaney as his middle name --- and damn if that boy doesn't sing like a songbird!

Now here I've run on about Delaney and not mentioned how much your work has lifted me time and again (sorry, we never had girls, coz there would be a Bonnie in our house too.) Thank you.?

I guess 2008?has been a rough year in some ways, but I love the?quote you have from?Ray Charles.??Know for sure there ain't no hollow hearts around here.?

Peace and Love to you and your in 2009 and way beyond.

God bless

Rick
